Parque Aiete (Aiete Park), San Sebastian

Parque Aiete is a stunning park located in one of the high areas of San Sebastian. The gardens around the palace of Aiete exude a natural beauty that inspires calmness. The park was designed by Pierre Ducasse in the 19th century, commissioned by the Dukes of Bailen.

The park boasts a rich collection of trees, with over a hundred different species and varieties, some of which are rare. At the top of the park is a pond where graceful swans swim while turtles bask in the sun. From there, a stream emerges that turns into a turrust above the artificial cave, continuing down a valley, forming pools of water and small waterfalls. The park's romantic inspiration is evident in the clusters of flowers scattered among the meadows, providing the perfect setting for contemplation.

Apart from the neoclassical palace that houses the House of Peace and Human Rights, the park has many other buildings dedicated to cultural use. The area is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the beauty of nature, with its picturesque landscapes and scenic views. The park's tranquility and natural beauty make it a popular destination for visitors to San Sebastian who are seeking a break from the hustle and bustle of the city.
