Paseo Alameda (Alameda Promenade), Mendoza

Paseo Alameda (Alameda pedestrian walkway) is located on Avenida San Martin. The Paseo Alameda project was endorsed by the local council in 1808. The walkway was fringed by tall trees and created a rather imposing impression at that times. General San Martín's home was located not too far from the paseo, so he used to walk here with his wife and small daughter. Today, the walkway is packed with various stalls, kiosks and playgrounds, representing an important part of the city life.
