People's Square and Park, Yangon

People's Square and Park is a major park that covers around 135 acres and was first opened in 1990. The park features a large pond, treetop observation platforms connected by hanging bridges, and displays like a Myanmar Airways Fokker F27, a fighter jet, and an old steam train. It is home to about 72 species of trees, 12 species of bamboo, 50 species of bushes and vines, as well as various fruit trees, medicinal herbs, and 17,000 flowering plants from different parts of Myanmar.

In the northwest corner of the park, you'll find the Natural World Amusement Park, and next to it, a Water Park. The north entrance leads to the Happy Zone Amusement Area, while the northeast corner is the Revolution Park, which is usually open to the public except during military parades and events. The People's Square, which takes up about 70 acres, has many trees, plants, flowers, and a central fountain with white elephants. This area hosts various events like International Yoga Day, lighting festivals, night markets, sports events, promotional events, and national ceremonies such as Independence Day, Union Day, and National Day.
