Railway Coastal Museum, St. John`s
The Railway Coastal Museum is a transport museum housed in the historic Newfoundland Railway terminal. Designated as a National Historic Site, it showcases the history of the Newfoundland Railway and coastal water transportation.
With 40 themed exhibits, artwork, and displays, the museum offers a comprehensive understanding of the railway's role in connecting communities. Initially funded by the Johnson Family Foundation, the museum is now managed by the Genesis Coworking Centre.
It serves as the starting point of the Trans-Canada Trail and preserves the memories of the Newfoundland Railway despite the absence of rolling stock. Affiliated with notable organizations, the museum contributes to the preservation of Newfoundland and Labrador's transportation history.
