Six Mile Creek Vineyard, Ithaca

Six Mile Creek Vineyard, Ithaca

Nestled just two miles from downtown Ithaca, Six Mile Creek Vineyard has been crafting award-winning wines since 1987, making it one of the oldest wineries on the Cayuga Lake Wine Trail. Originally founded by Roger and Nancy Battistella, this charming vineyard started as a passion project and has since grown into a well-respected name in New York’s wine scene. Today, under the ownership of Mark and Amy Renodin, the vineyard continues to thrive, producing over 10,000 gallons of wine annually alongside a distinguished line of grape-based spirits.

In 2023, Six Mile Creek Vineyard took home the prestigious Governor’s Cup at the New York Wine Classic-a competition often dubbed “The Oscars” of New York wine-for its 2016 Cabernet Franc, solidifying its reputation as a premier winemaker in the Finger Lakes region.

Beyond its acclaimed wines, the vineyard is known for its idyllic setting, offering panoramic views of rolling hills, vineyards, and a tranquil pond with a lighted fountain. Its proximity to Cornell University, Ithaca College, and the Downtown Ithaca area makes it a popular destination for visitors and a sought-after venue for weddings, graduations, and private events. Couples and event planners are drawn to its picturesque landscapes, shaded pergola, and beautifully manicured gardens, providing a perfect backdrop for special occasions.

In addition to its red, white, and rosé wines, Six Mile Creek produces a unique selection of grape-based spirits, including vodka, gin, limoncello, orangecello, grappa, and Amore-a locally inspired liqueur. Whether stopping by for a tasting or planning a memorable event, this vineyard offers an inviting experience that blends fine craftsmanship with the natural beauty of the Finger Lakes region.
