The Sofitel Buenos Aires is a luxurious five-star hotel in the peaceful Retiro district, just 0.5 kilometer from Jorge Newbery Airport. It's conveniently close to attractions like Museo de Arte Hispanoamericano Isaac Fernandez Blanco and Galerias Pacifico shopping center. The impressive Cemiterio de Recoleta is also nearby. If you arrive at Terminal Madero Manuel Tienda Leon, a 10-minute walk gets you to the hotel.

Once the tallest edifice in Argentina and Latin America, the soaring 80-meter tower retained its status as a city icon, even as the nearby Kavanagh Building surpassed its height in 1936. Pioneering in Argentina, it integrated in-wall wind braces and incorporated ship hull sections into much of its upper roofing and façade. In the year 2000, the Paris-based hospitality powerhouse, Accor, acquired the tower, envisioning the creation of Argentina's inaugural Sofitel Hotel.

Distinguished by captivating Art-Deco design, the structure boasts diagonal braces for added security and a glass-domed arched roof with black and white marble touches. Created by local firm Daniel Fernández & Associates and enhanced by Pierre-Yves Rochon, the renovation included a 10-meter basement with a pool, gym, and parking. A T-shaped passage formed by connecting 5-story wings now serves as a lobby with black-and-white marble tiles under a glass roof. Opening in January 2003, the hotel offers 144 rooms, business facilities, a literary café, and Le Sud, a charming Provençal restaurant.
