Stanley A. Milner Library, Edmonton
The Stanley A. Milner Library serves as the main branch of the Edmonton Public Library and holds a central spot on the southern edge of Sir Winston Churchill Square in downtown Edmonton. Thanks to its prime location, the library frequently participates in public events hosted in the square. Notably, in 2010, it hosted an outdoor book sale offering aging and duplicate materials to the community.
Beyond its vast collection of books and resources, the library offers several meeting rooms and a small theater on the lower level, used for both internal library programs and public rentals. Accessibility and convenience are key features of the library—it’s directly connected to Edmonton’s LRT system and the underground pedway network, and it’s well-served by ETS bus routes along Harbin Road and 100 Street.
Importantly, the Stanley A. Milner Library is a recognized center for assistive services. It provides a wide range of support including specialized magnifiers, projection reading rooms, large print books, braille materials, voice dictation stations, and adaptive computer technology, all in line with its commitment to equitable information access for all users.
