Usina del Arte, Buenos Aires

La Usina del Arte stands as a hub of culture and performance, situated within the premises of the former Don Pedro de Mendoza Usina in Buenos Aires' La Boca neighborhood.

The edifice draws attention with its prominent clock-adorned tower gracing Pedro de Mendoza Avenue, visible from a distance. The internal spaces comprise expansive chambers that once housed electrical generators, featuring robust iron truss ceilings and a zinc sheet roof.

The inaugural phase of the complex took place in July 2011, followed by a subsequent phase unveiled in May 2012. This extension encompasses a primary auditorium known as the "Symphony" hall, tailored for philharmonic concerts, accommodating up to 1200 attendees. The hall is equipped with a movable stage and three tiers of seating, including pullman seats and side balconies. Adjacent to the central plant structure is the "Golden Room," designated for showcasing artworks.

Completing the tripartite expansion, the third phase encompasses a rehearsal space capable of accommodating 250 artists on the ground floor. This area mirrors the dimensions of the primary hall's stage. Additionally, a "Chamber Room" is available, providing seating for 400 spectators. This room features two levels of side balconies in addition to the main audience level, making it suitable for chamber music performances and orchestral displays.
