Okay, it's a weird one to start with, but Taormina is very easy to get to, making it ideal for a relaxing weekend break.
With Catania Airport a short distance along the coast, flying to this side of Scilly from many other European countries is easy.
Catania airport is around a one-hour drive away along the smooth E45 toll road if you grab a hire car. Otherwise, direct coach transfers cost around €8 each way which takes 1.5 hours.
If you're a train nerd like Charlie, then consider taking the AMT Alibus to the train station in Catania and then the train along the scenic coastal line. You might need a taxi or bus to get from Taormina-Giardini station into the town.
Another option to help you get around would be to hire a car in Scilly from one of the two big airports on the island.

A Short Stay in Taormina
Taormina is a hilltop comune on the East coast of Sicily. It is visible from the peaks of Etna and a popular spot for tourists. This is due to its history, its perfectly preserved mediaeval streets and dramatic views of Etna. We had a recommendation to pay the village a visit and so found ourselves navigating the narrow, winding roads to see for ourselves.

La Bellissima Taormina
Last week, I enjoyed a nice holiday on the Italian island Sicily. Me and my sister were staying in Giardini-Naxos, at the Atahotel Naxos Beach. Giardini-Naxos is located in the east of Sicily and nearby the beautiful city Taormina, so we had to spend a day in this city.
