The Church of Our Lady of Victories at the Sablon (French: Église Notre-Dame des Victoires au Sablon; Dutch: Onze-Lieve-Vrouw ter Zege op de Zavelkerk) was built in the 15th century and patronized by the nobility and wealthy citizens of Brussels. In poor condition by the 19th century, the church was restored (1895-1912) and classified National Monument since 1936.

Directly across from the Church of Our Lady of Victories at the Sablon in Brussels is the Petit Sablon Square (Place du Petit Sablon). The square is known for its beautiful gardens (Jardins du Petit Sablon), central fountain, and statues representing Brussels guilds and humanists.

The Petit Sablon Square was created in 1890 by Belgian architect Henri Beyaert and is dedicated to the memory of Lamoral, Count of Egmont, and Philip de Montmorency, Count of Horn, who were beheaded on June 5, 1568 before the Town Hall on the Grand-Place because of their resistance to the Spanish invasion. ......
