We thought we would stop off along the way for a walk around this lovely village of Amarante. Although not everything was open, we managed to see the important attractions.

Our journey begins with a step back in time at the São Gonçalo Church. This architectural marvel, blending Baroque and Rococo styles, pays homage to São Gonçalo, the town’s patron saint. The intricately carved façade and ornate interior are a testament to the town’s rich history and devotion.
