Because of this, Rome is the perfect example of blending a modern city with ancient histories and ruins. With world-renowned landmarks such as the Colosseum and the world’s smallest sovereign state of Vatican City landlocked within, it is no wonder why Rome is one of the most visited cities in Italy. This 3-day Rome itinerary will help you plan the must-sees for a first-time visitor, including the Colosseum, Roman Forum, Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel, St Peter’s Square as well as its historic district (Centro Storico).

This 3-day Rome itinerary is designed generally to suit first-time visitors. That would include the must-see sights of the Colosseum, Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel as well as the historic centre (Centro Storico). 3 days is typically the most optimal time you need to be able to comfortably cover the essence of the city, but I will also suggest itineraries for shorter stays in this article. ......
