Bender Gallery, Asheville

Bender Gallery offers an exceptional showcase of contemporary fine art, with a distinctive focus on museum-quality glass sculpture. Founded in 2005 by Bernadette and Miles Bender-two former Washington, D.C. professionals turned passionate gallerists-Bender Gallery quickly gained recognition as a premier destination for collectors and enthusiasts alike. Beyond its remarkable glass collection, the gallery also features ceramic and bronze sculptures, as well as both figurative and abstract paintings.

A highlight of the gallery’s exhibitions is its presentation of works by glass master Lino Tagliapietra, described by Dale Chihuly as “perhaps the world’s greatest living glassblower.” The gallery’s collection includes striking contemporary pieces by artists such as Mark Abildgaard and Dan Neil Barnes, offering visitors a captivating visual experience that blends innovation with craftsmanship.

Bender Gallery also supports artists like Seth Haverkamp, known for his glowing portraiture using a minimal palette, and Hunt Slonem, whose vibrant animal motifs and neo-expressionist flair have earned him international acclaim.
