Blue Spiral 1 is a cornerstone of Asheville’s arts scene, showcasing the work of over 120 artists. Spread across three connected floors, the gallery offers an immersive experience through a rotating schedule of more than 25 exhibitions each year. Visitors can explore a wide range of media-including painting, glass, ceramics, wood, metal, and fiber-presented in both thematic group shows and solo artist spotlights. A key feature of Blue Spiral 1 is its ongoing dedication to the estate of Will Henry Stevens, a pioneering modernist whose work bridges spiritual reflection and natural form. Since its founding on New Year’s Eve in 1990 by visionary gallerist John Cram, the space has been instrumental in Asheville’s cultural resurgence.
