Brundl Sports Flagshipstore, Zell am See
Bründl Sports Flagshipstore is a large Alpine sports and leisure space in the centre of Kaprun, part of the wider Zell am See-Kaprun tourism region. The site has special meaning for the company, because Hans Bründl opened his first ski rental shop here in 1956. Today, the six-level complex offers shops, rentals, repairs, fitting services, and lounge areas for mountain sports.
The building is also part of the experience. Expanded by Blocher Partners and Umdasch Store Makers, it was designed for sustainability and holds Austrian Sustainable Real Estate Council, Platinum, and Crystal certifications. Natural materials such as white fir, spruce, Swiss pine, and Rauris quartzite shape the interior. Digital walls bring mountain views and weather indoors, while the glass ski workshop shows skis and snowboards being serviced.
The store includes several features that make it interesting even beyond shopping. A glass skywalk above the Kapruner Ache offers glacier views and a PhotoPoint. Other features include a two-floor indoor slide, children’s climbing area, boot-fitting labs, a running track, hiking-boot test ramps, a rooftop bistro, electric vehicle charging, and staff mountain cleanups.
