CADIM Ceramic Art Gallery, Jerusalem
Nahalat Shiva is a trendy street lined with galleries, cafes, and restaurants, just a few blocks away from the Midrachov. Along Yoel Salomon Street, you'll find several ceramic cooperative shops showcasing the work of forty of Israel's most talented ceramic artists. The array of styles and techniques is diverse, reflecting the rich cultural heritage of the artisans.
Established in 1987, CADIM proudly exhibits the creations of 15 master ceramists, who also oversee and staff the store. The pieces are grouped by artist, and each purchase includes the artist's story. Prices range from affordable to higher-end, offering functional pottery, decorative items, sculptures, Judaica, and jewelry.
All the artists reside in or near Jerusalem, each with a distinct style. Leonid Gosin, originally from Russia, draws inspiration from nature and the beauty of everyday life. Nitsan Stern's work is influenced by Japanese aesthetics and the landscapes of Israel. Rani Gilat strives for "simplicity and purity of form" in his porcelain pieces. Edith Adi, hailing from Argentina, handcrafts her pottery and uses various printing techniques.
