The Shopping Center is a historic point of reference for shopping for the people of Taranto. In September 2018, a major expansion and renovation project was completed, accompanied by a name change. The new “Porte dello Jonio” Shopping Center is inspired by the territory, with the use of lime and Salento-inspired pergolas and with the citation of the typical local crafts that christen the areas and icons of the center. The varied and complete commercial offer, combined with a welcoming, modern environment with a strong environmental sensitivity, enhance its function as a Center serving the community. The structure is located at the exit of the city ring road, with a catchment area that covers the agglomeration of Taranto, the coastal area and extends up to 25 minutes inland. Its offer includes 1 hypermarket and 80 shops, of which 9 medium-sized stores.

And to celebrate this new beginning there will also be an important collaboration with a local association, the Jonian Dolphin Conservation , which has been studying the cetaceans of the Gulf of Taranto for years and carries out dolphin watching activities involving tourists and citizens on board the catamaran Taras.
