Craft Gallery, Santa Cruz

Located in the quaint seaside village of Capitola-by-the-Sea on California's scenic Central Coast, the Craft Gallery is a vibrant showcase of American creativity. Founded in 1969 by Carin Hanna, the gallery has become a staple of the local art scene, representing the work of American craftspeople.

Situated just a block from the beach, the Craft Gallery offers a diverse and imaginative collection that includes everything from garden art and home decor to pottery, wood jewelry boxes, and more. The store specializes in items like stained glass, wind chimes, sea glass jewelry, woodwork, candles, and sculptures, making it a perfect spot for finding unique gifts and decorative pieces.

The gallery's mission is to provide an enjoyable shopping experience for all visitors. It features two adjacent stores, each dedicated to showcasing over 100 artisans. Notably, the gallery offers year-round complimentary gift wrapping and accepts various forms of payment including major credit cards, and personal and traveler’s checks.

An additional highlight of the gallery is its Firefly jewelry line. These pieces are handcrafted by the indigenous people of Santiago Atitlan, Guatemala, in a workshop known for its spacious, light-filled environment and ethical employment practices. The jewelry is made using fine beads, crystals, semi-precious stones, sterling silver ear wires, and antiqued silver-plated brass findings, ranging from minimalist designs to more elaborate, sparkling creations.

The Craft Gallery is also pet-friendly, welcoming shoppers who want to bring their furry companions along. Whether looking for a special gift or a piece to add to one’s collection, the Craft Gallery promises a unique, artful shopping excursion enriched by the coastal beauty and artistic spirit of Capitola-by-the-Sea.
