Crkva Sv. Sebastijan (Saint Sebastian's Church), Trogir

Saint Sebastian's Church in Trogir is a significant historical site that also serves as a memorial to those who lost their lives in Croatia's Homeland War, which took place between 1991 and 1995. The church, located in the heart of Trogir's historic center, was originally built in the 15th century, with construction completed in 1482 by Niccolo di Giovanni. The exterior is known for its sculpture of Saint Sebastian and an impressive clock tower, while the interior is simpler, featuring a statue of the saint and carved sarcophagi made from white stone.

During the Homeland War, an estimated 14,000 Croats died, and over 300,000 were displaced. As a result, many towns and cities in Croatia have erected memorials to honor the local victims of the war. In Trogir, the chosen location for such a memorial was Saint Sebastian's Church. The modern memorial inside the church includes a lit panel displaying photos of the war dead from Trogir, a plaque with their names, and a dedication, alongside a Croatian flag.
