Djuiboriy Kalon Madrasa, Bukhara

The Djiuboriy Kalon Madrasa, located in the historic city of Bukhara, stands as a remarkable testament to the architectural and educational heritage of the region. This madrasa was constructed during the reign of Uzbek ruler Abdulaziz Khan between the 15th and 17th centuries. Originally functioning as a prestigious educational institution, the madrasa operated until the 19th century, drawing scholars from across the region.

Built in the Joybor district of Bukhara, the Djiuboriy Kalon Madrasa is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site that encapsulates the historical and cultural essence of Bukhara. The building's architecture follows traditional designs with a unique layout shaped like an egg.

The madrasa itself features a single-story structure encompassing 29 rooms and a large library, reflecting its significant role in the educational landscape of the region. The main entrance leads through a grand portal into the central courtyard, with a mosque on one side and a series of interconnected rooms on the other.
