Episcopal Cellar Museum, Pecs
The Episcopal Cellar Museum building served as a main cellar for the "bishop," a special wine drink. Nowadays the cellar houses a museum of viniculture. Here you can find wine from the major viticulture regions of Hungary: Tolna, Szekszárd, Pécs and Villány. Every region is famous for its own special wine. For example, the Tolna region Chardonnay, Tramini, Sauvignon Blanc and Italian Riesling are the best in quality; the Szekszárd is the oldest wine-growing area in Hungary; but Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay are the famous wines of Villány region. Moreover, any visitor can get free admission to the Cathedral when buying a museum ticket, and they are welcome to the winery for a glass of wine.
