Fiera di Rimini (Rimini Fair), Rimini

The Rimini Fair (Fiera di Rimini) is a premier exhibition center located in Rimini. Established in 2001 and later expanded in 2018, it spans 129,000 square meters (1,390,000 square feet) of exhibition space across 16 pavilions, making it one of the most significant venues for trade fairs, events, and conferences in the region.

Rimini’s exhibition history began with the Hotel Fair in 1949, hosted at the Grand Hotel. Over the decades, the venue evolved, moving in 1968 to a dedicated site on Via Monte Titano, where it hosted major events like the MAPIR Craft Exhibition and key political congresses, including the Italian Communist Party’s last congress in 1991. The current Rimini Fiera complex, designed by architect Volkwin Marg, reflects the "genius loci" of Emilia-Romagna, emphasizing symmetry, axial alignment, and adaptability.

The Fiera features pillarless pavilions, which can be combined or separated to suit event needs. Its one-level layout includes 24 modular meeting rooms, a press room, a business center, and extensive catering facilities. The main entrance, located on Via Emilia, leads to a central piazza with a fountain and four glass towers. Additional fountains grace the colonnaded courtyards between the pavilions.

Rimini Fiera hosts a variety of events, from trade fairs to sporting and musical performances, but it is particularly renowned for the Rimini Meeting, an annual gathering organized by the lay Catholic Communion and Liberation movement. Other notable historical events include political congresses, such as the 1987 Italian Socialist Party congress, and key economic reports led by future Prime Minister Romano Prodi.

The Rimini Fair continues to thrive as a dynamic hub for exhibitions and events, embodying the region’s commitment to innovation and hospitality while significantly shaping Rimini’s cultural and economic landscape.
