First Presbyterian Church, Atlanta

The First Presbyterian Church was constructed in 1848 and has since undergone multiple renovations and expansions. Located on Peachtree Street, one of the city's main thoroughfares, it features a mix of Gothic Revival and Romanesque Revival styles, a large tower with a pointed spire that reaches up to 200 feet high, as well as intricate stonework and stained glass windows.

Inside, visitors can see the impressive pipe organ that was built in 1922 and has been updated over the years. The sanctuary is adorned with beautiful woodwork, high ceilings, and pews that can accommodate up to 1,800 people.

The church has played an important role in the city's history, serving as a meeting place for important figures such as Martin Luther King Jr. during the Civil Rights Movement. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1971 and has been designated a Landmark Building by the City of Atlanta.

Today, the First Presbyterian Church building continues to serve as a place of worship for its congregation and welcomes visitors to admire its impressive architecture and rich history.
