True Dreams Gallery (Galerie Vrais Rêves) in Lyon is a distinguished art gallery with a focus on contemporary photography. Its intriguing name, "True Dreams," is inspired by the 1976 book "True Dreams, Photographic Stories" by American photographer Duane Michals. This gallery has a rich history that began in 1978 when a collective of image creators, known as "Regards," regularly convened on Dumenge Street in the Croix-Rousse district. This initial gathering eventually led to the establishment of the association “True Dreams“ (Vrais Rêves) on October 27, 1980.

In 1990, the gallery debuted its first exhibition featuring the works of Duane Michals, marking the commencement of its journey in the world of contemporary photography. Since then, the gallery has steadfastly continued its mission, showcasing a commitment to artistic convictions and a focus on research, contemporary, and visual photography.

The gallery has also gained recognition on the international stage, participating in numerous international fairs. These include appearances at the “Milan Image Art Fair” in 2010 and 2012, Photofever in Brussels in 2011, and the “Photo Docks Art Fair” in Lyon in 2014. Additionally, the gallery has extended its reach beyond its physical location through international collaborations. These collaborations span several countries and prestigious institutions, such as the Nei Liicht Center and the National Audiovisual Center in Luxembourg, the Schneider Museum of Art in Ashland, USA, and involvement in the Rencontres d'Arles in 2010.
