Gem Center USA, El Paso

Gem Center USA was established in 1962 as a family-owned business and developed alongside the region’s cross-border gemstone and jewelry trade. Over the decades, it expanded beyond local retail into a national wholesale supplier of geodes, crystals, and mineral specimens. Today, it operates through both Gem Center Wholesale and its public-facing showroom, known as the Crystal Gallery by Gem Center.

Inside the showroom, glass cases present loose gemstones, including diamonds, sapphires, and a wide range of semi-precious stones. Large geodes, mineral clusters, and polished crystals fill key display areas, with particular emphasis on Mexican geodes from the Las Choyas Mine in Chihuahua. An in-house Registered Gemologist verifies stone quality, while the Crystal Mine Museum explains regional geology and offers interactive geode cracking and gem panning.

For tourists, the site provides insight into how raw minerals move from mine to market. The combined showroom, workshop, museum space, and distribution centre illustrate both its local foundations and its broader national reach within the mineral and gemstone industry.
