Green Hill Park, Worcester

Green Hill Park, Worcester

Green Hill Park stands as the city's largest municipal park, sprawling over an impressive 480 acres. Nestled atop one of Worcester's prominent hills, the park's history traces back to the Green family's country estate. Today, it holds a special place as both a sprawling green space and a site of historical significance, being listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

One of the notable features within this expansive park is the Massachusetts Vietnam Veterans' Memorial, which was inaugurated in June 2002. This memorial serves as a solemn tribute to the veterans of the Vietnam War hailing from the state of Massachusetts. While the park offers a range of attractions, including an arboretum, ponds, gazebos, and picnic areas, the Green Hill Park Farm is currently closed to the public.

However, the Green Hill Golf Course is available for play, although its clubhouse, golf shop, and restaurant remain temporarily closed. In essence, Green Hill Park seamlessly combines natural beauty with a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made by local veterans during the Vietnam War.
