Gruta Nuestra Senora de Lourdes (Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes), Mar del Plata

Founded in 1937 on a quarry, the Capilla Nuestra Señora De Lourdes is surrounded by a beautiful area. The church and the grotto are almost an exact replica, though smaller, of the popular French cave, and an imitation of Jerusalem featuring moving characters and lighting which are a great landmark for Mar del Plata. At the top of the cave visitors can see the amazing sanctuary honoring the memory of Nuestra Señora de Lourdes’s Virgin. Designed by architect Luis Cossa, the chapel is visited by thousands of local Christians and tourists every year.
