Herron Gallery, Indianapolis
Located within the Herron School of Art and Design at Indiana University–Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI), the Herron Galleries stand as a vibrant hub for contemporary art in downtown Indianapolis. Established in 1902 as the John Herron Art Institute, the school evolved into the IU Herron School of Art and Design and moved to its current home, Eskenazi Hall, in 2005. With over 6,000 square feet of exhibition space, the galleries offer a dynamic environment for exploration, participation, and learning.
The Herron Galleries comprise the Eleanor Prest Reese & Robert B. Berkshire Galleries, Marsh Gallery, and the Frank & Katrina Basile Center. These spaces exhibit works by emerging and established artists, Herron faculty, alumni, and students, as well as national and international contributors. The diverse array of mediums and perspectives showcased underscores the galleries' commitment to contemporary art and design.
