Hommage an Brigantium (Tribute to Brigantium), Bregenz
Tribute to Brigantium is a bronze sculpture crafted by Herbert Albrecht in 2011. It is a tribute to the Roman settlement of Brigantium, now Bregenz. Erected during the port's redesign, measures approximately three meters in height and width.
Comprised of three distinct components, the sculpture features a central, smaller element resembling a Roman head, positioned between two larger structures, all oriented towards the harbor.
The genesis of this artwork traces back to 2009 when Illwerke AG initiated the competition "Art in Public Space – Location: Port of Bregenz." Herbert Albrecht, alongside Gerry Ammann and Ruth Schnell, emerged as selected artists by an international jury to contribute to the port's revitalization through their creations.
