House of Butterflies, Moscow

House of Butterflies, also known as the Moscow Butterflarium, is an indoor exhibition devoted primarily to living tropical butterflies. It operates within the VDNKh complex and maintains a warm greenhouse environment in which butterflies from different parts of the world can fly freely around visitors.

The attraction also includes displays devoted to insects and other small animals, making it broader than a butterfly garden alone. Inside the tropical garden, visitors can observe butterflies at close range as they fly, feed, and rest among plants and specially arranged surfaces. The collection changes because it consists of living insects, but the exhibition has included species such as Blue Morpho butterflies and Owl butterflies. The attraction currently operates under the broader name House of Butterflies, Ants and Reptiles, reflecting additional displays beyond the butterfly garden. For families and visitors interested in insects and nature, it offers an opportunity to observe living tropical species throughout the year in an indoor setting.
