Knott's Independence Hall, Anaheim

Knott's Independence Hall, Anaheim

Knott’s Independence Hall, located just across the street from Knott’s Berry Farm in Anaheim, is a hidden historical gem and the only exact, brick-by-brick replica of the original Independence Hall in Philadelphia. Built as a labor of love by Walter Knott and opened on July 4, 1966-exactly 190 years after the adoption of the Declaration of Independence-this free-admission exhibit invites visitors to step directly into a faithful recreation of one of America’s most important landmarks.

Inside, guests will find a near-perfect replica of the Liberty Bell, weighing just five pounds less than the original, displayed exactly where it once stood in Philadelphia until 1976. The Assembly Room, meticulously recreated, features an audio presentation of the Founding Fathers passionately debating the birth of a nation. Visitors can also view wax figures of historic figures like George Washington and Betsy Ross, explore a range of presidential artifacts, and browse through collections of historic documents and Bicentennial memorabilia.

In keeping with Walter Knott’s original vision, Knott’s Independence Hall remains completely free to the public-an educational resource and patriotic tribute to American history that continues to inspire generations.
