Kursunlu Waterfalls, Antalya

Located 19 kilometers from Antalya, the Kurşunlu Waterfall awaits at the end of a 7 kilometers road branching off to the north of the Antalya-Serik-Alanya highway. Nestled within a captivating pine forest, this enchanting waterfall marks the descent of one of the Aksu River's tributaries from Antalya's plateau to the coastal plain. A mere twenty-minute drive from Antalya's city center, this picturesque spot offers a delightful picnic and leisure destination.

Designated as a nature park on May 21, 1991, by the Ministry of Environment and Forest, the waterfall and its surrounding area span an impressive 586.5 hectares (1,449 acres).

As you make your way to the waterfall, you will encounter ancient water mills dating back centuries. These mills once served the grinding needs of the villages in the region, showcasing the area's rich history.

Plunging a staggering 18 meters, Kurşunlu Waterfall stands as the tallest cascade within the canyon. However, don't expect to witness a solitary waterfall; instead, you will be greeted by a series of charming small waterfalls that collectively form seven picturesque ponds. Regardless of the season, the allure of the waterfall remains captivating, even if water levels decrease slightly during the summer.

Beyond its cascades, Kurşunlu Waterfall boasts a breathtaking landscape where captivating rock formations converge with the flowing waters. The park is home to a myriad of species, and its abundant flora has earned it the nickname "plant tunnel." Dominated by cluster pines, this verdant sanctuary offers a cool and refreshing retreat.

The park has diverse flora like pines, laurel, carob, olive, mastic, willow, fig, myrtle, oleander, and more. Aquatic plants include water mints, reeds, water hunts, and lotus. It's a haven for forest animals like turtles, bats, squirrels, foxes, boars, rabbits, tortoises, and lizards.
