La Buca Di Montauto, San Gimignano
Opened in 1979 by the Capezzuoli family, La Buca di Montauto is a family-run business rooted in the city’s farming traditions. It began as a modest farm and has grown into a deli and small agrotourism, now well regarded by both locals and visitors.
The establishment sells its own farm-fresh products directly to visitors. These include the celebrated Vernaccia of San Gimignano DOCG and Chianti DOCG wines, extra-virgin olive oil, as well as a standout selection of pork and wild-boar salumi, crafted with meticulous attention to traditional Tuscan flavors, enhanced by subtle, creative touches.
In 2000, the owners expanded their vision to include hospitality-opening an agrotourism nestled less than 2 km from the town center. The restored farmhouse offers two rooms and two apartments, each with private facilities and independent entrances. Rooms are furnished in rustic Tuscan style, featuring original wooden beams and terra-cotta ceilings.
