Lindenau Liebfrauen, Leipzig

The foundation stone of Lindenau Liebfrauen (Our Lady of Lindeau) was set in May 1907 by Bishop Aloys Schaefer. On July 7, 1908 the bronze bells were installed and the congregation was called to its first worship ceremony in the new church. Between 1913 and 1916, the church received a colorful mural with the motives of the Seven Joys of Mary, installed by Leipzig's painter Henry Hinrichs. After the World War II, the church was renovated and its interior remodeled. This was done according to plans of Arthur Becker/Kemberg and with a great assistance of many local volunteers.
