Mathaf Arab Museum of Modern Art, Doha

Established in 2010, Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art has swiftly become a cornerstone of the country's cultural landscape, captivating art enthusiasts and scholars alike. Housed within a former school building in Doha's Education City, Mathaf boasts a remarkable collection of over 9,000 artworks, making it the world's largest repository of modern and contemporary Arab art.

The museum's expansive collection provides a comprehensive overview of modern Arab art, spanning from the 1840s to the present day. Donated by Sheikh Hassan bin Mohamed bin Ali Al Thani to Qatar Foundation and later acquired by Qatar Museums Authority, the collection is a testament to Qatar's commitment to preserving and celebrating the artistic heritage of the Arab world.
