Imam Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab Mosque, Doha

The Imam Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab Mosque is the largest mosque in the country. Situated just a couple of blocks away from Doha Corniche, this architectural marvel is a blend of modernity and tradition, featuring a striking design characterized by 93 domes. Since its inauguration in 2011 by Qatar's founder, Sheikh Jassin bin Mohammed Al Thani, the mosque has become a significant center for Islamic worship, accommodating over 30 thousand worshippers at once.

Upon entering the mosque, visitors are greeted by its spacious interior, which includes separate prayer halls for men and women, ensuring a comfortable and inclusive environment for worshippers. Dressing modestly, with knees and shoulders covered, is essential, and women are typically provided with scarves to cover their heads upon entry. Additionally, shoes must be removed before entering the mosque, as a sign of respect for the sacred space. While photography is permitted inside the mosque using smartphones, professional cameras are generally not allowed in specific areas.
