The Museum of Modern Art embodies architect and art patron Hanns Egon Wörlen's generosity and vision. Donated in 1990, this cultural gem sits at the crossroads of Eastern nations, fostering a dynamic dialogue between East and West through its contemporary art exhibits.

At the heart of its collection lies the artistic legacy of Georg Philipp Wörlen (1886 to 1954), a painter and graphic artist whose profound influence echoes through the halls. This legacy is further enriched by works from Georg Philipp Wörlen's fellow artistic comrades, including those from the "Vienna Hagenbund," "Der Fels," and the "Donau-Wald-Gruppe" communities. The museum's curatorial emphasis rests on embracing works of Expressionism, New Objectivity, and contemporary art, forming a unique narrative that spans across artistic movements and generations.

Within its walls, the museum unfolds a kaleidoscope of changing special exhibitions, showcasing the works of internationally acclaimed artists from the 20th and 21st centuries.
