Museum of Money, Minsk

The Museum of Money offers a unique journey through the history of Belarusian currency. The museum's story began in 2011, when Andrei Misko, a teacher at Belarusian State University, started collecting coins. His passion for numismatics grew into a remarkable collection, sparking the idea to share his enthusiasm with the public.

The museum's exhibits span from the times of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania (ON) to modern-day Belarus, providing visitors with a comprehensive overview of the nation's monetary history. The displays are divided into two thematic groups, each highlighting significant periods such as the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, Western Belarus, and the Soviet Union. Through these exhibits, one can trace the economic and political evolution of Belarus, as reflected in its currency.

The museum also features various banknotes, coupons, bonds, and stamps. Particularly noteworthy is the collection of commemorative coins from the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus, marking the genesis of Misko's hobby. The museum's multilingual displays in Belarusian, Russian, and English make it accessible and informative for a diverse range of visitors.
