Myers Park United Methodist Church, Charlotte

Myers Park United Methodist Church, situated in the heart of Charlotte, has been a cornerstone of faith and community since its establishment in 1925. Initially conceived by ten local businessmen, the church was founded with the aim of providing a place of worship for their families and the wider Myers Park community. Construction commenced in 1929 on a tranquil, tree-lined street near Queens University.

The architectural design of the church, crafted by Louis Asbury, draws inspiration from the English Gothic style, giving the building an elegant and timeless appearance. Notable features include a prominent tower, pointed arched windows, and intricate stonework, enhancing its picturesque charm. The stones used in its construction are believed to have been sourced from the Hillsborough quarry in California, adding to both the beauty and durability of the structure.

With a seating capacity of approximately 700, Myers Park United Methodist Church has served as a spiritual home for numerous worshippers throughout the years. Today, it boasts a vibrant parish community exceeding 3,000 members, with this number steadily growing. This growth reflects the church's steadfast dedication to faith, fellowship, and service, solidifying its status as a beloved institution in the Myers Park area and beyond.
