Palacongressi di Rimini (Rimini Conference Center), Rimini

The Rimini Conference Center (Rimini Palacongressi) stands as the largest purpose-built conference venue in Italy and one of Europe’s most impressive facilities. Strategically located on Via della Fiera, it is a short distance from Rimini’s city center and seamlessly connects to both the historic core and the seaside through a network of scenic cycle and pedestrian paths within a park.

The conference center emphasizes environmental sustainability, technological innovation, and flexibility of use, making it a versatile venue for a wide range of events. From corporate conventions and medical symposiums to cultural and sporting events, its modular design accommodates gatherings of all sizes. It boasts 29,000 square meters of walkable space, excellent underground parking, and the capacity to host multiple simultaneous events. The center’s layout includes two main bodies linked by a spacious foyer system, three distinct entrances, and adaptable conference and exhibition spaces.

A standout architectural element of the Rimini Conference Center is the granite pearl, located within the main entrance. Crafted from Carrara granite by the German Kusser company, the pearl is a feat of engineering and artistry. It weighs 16 tons (20 tons including its base), measures 205 centimeters in diameter, and is the largest of its kind in Europe. The pearl rotates on water bearings, allowing movement with a simple hand touch. Its design echoes the striking shell-like structure that crowns the entrance and houses the Amphitheater room.

This granite sphere surpasses its predecessor-a 200-centimeter pearl designed for the 2006 World Cup press center in Germany-through a meticulous manufacturing process involving numerically controlled machines.

The Rimini Conference Center epitomizes modern conference facilities, combining state-of-the-art infrastructure with environmental consciousness and an iconic design.
