Peace Center, Greenville

Peace Center, Greenville

The Peace Center stands as a vibrant performing arts complex and cultural landmark. Established in November 1990, the center was born from a visionary initiative to resurrect Greenville’s historic riverfront district-once dotted with derelict factories and mills-into a lively hub for arts, entertainment, and community life. Thanks to a remarkable pledge of $10 million from the Peace family and strong local support, the Peace Center was constructed atop this industrial legacy, with the grand vision of uniting people of all ages and backgrounds to experience world-class performances.

Spanning a six-acre campus, the Peace Center offers three distinctive venues: the expansive Peace Concert Hall (seating around 2,100 with orchestra pit), the more intimate Gunter Theatre (about 400 seats), and the open-air TD Stage (1,200–1,400 seats), each with unique architectural and acoustic qualities. Over the years, this cultural centerpiece has anchored Greenville’s downtown renaissance, drawing in world-class Broadway tours, classical concerts, pop music, dance recitals, comedy events, and much more. With around 300 events annually, it welcomes over 250,000 visitors every year.

For visitors, the Peace Center offers more than entertainment-it’s a gateway into Greenville’s revitalized downtown, with immediate access to nearby Falls Park, dining, shopping, and scenic riverfront trails. Whether you're drawn by a Broadway musical, a symphony performance by the Greenville Symphony Orchestra (a resident company), an outdoor concert under the stars, or student matinees and community workshops, the Peace Center invites you to experience Southern charm and artistic excellence in one unforgettable setting.
