Port des Minimes (Port of Minimes), La Rochelle

The Port of Minimes is the largest of the three marinas that make up the La Rochelle marina complex. Established in 1972 as part of an expansion of the Old Port, it now stands as the primary maritime hub on the Atlantic coast, welcoming more than 5,000 boats each year. Its impressive infrastructure includes over 4,700 mooring spots, 300 of which are reserved for visitors, and spans more than 70 hectares with 15 kilometers of pontoons.

The marina's expansive design and modern facilities make it one of the largest of its kind in both Europe and the world. It is a vibrant site of maritime activity, hosting over 100 nautical events annually. Among these, the Grand Pavois de La Rochelle is a standout event. This international boat show, held every September since 1973, attracts around 70,000 visitors and showcases approximately 750 boats both afloat and on land. It is one of the largest floating boat shows in the world, highlighting La Rochelle's deep connection to maritime culture.

In addition to its role as a marina, the Port of Minimes is also a popular recreational area. Visitors and locals alike are drawn to its long promenades, ideal for strolling along the waterfront while admiring the sleek lines of moored sailboats and yachts.
