Opened in May 2001, it is the perfect place to go out with friends and browse through numerous boutiques and shops (140) that the mall has to offer. Shopping Frei Caneca is also big on food and entertainment, with a food court on the third floor and 9 cinemas. If you feel hungry or just want a light snack, the food court has plenty to offer, from burgers to pasta to Arabic to vegetarian to traditional Brazilian cuisine. Frei Caneca is a popular gay hang-out, much as many neighboring spots at Frei Caneca Street.
