St. Ambrose Church, Bridgetown

St. Ambrose Church, Bridgetown

The construction of the St. Ambrose Church, which ended in 1857, was the result of the constantly growing population of Barbados and it was started at the initiative of Reverend Joseph S. Mayers, who understood the spiritual situation here. The church enjoyed major support from the Legislature and other people of influence in Bridgetown, which was very helpful in the process of its construction. Today, one is welcome to join the church services, which take place on Sundays and Wednesdays.
