St. Mary Romanian Orthodox Church, Anaheim

Saint Mary Romanian Orthodox Church, also known as the Falling Asleep of the Ever-Virgin Mary Church, is a significant place of worship for the Romanian Orthodox community in Anaheim. Established in 1985 under the blessing of His Grace Bishop Nathaniel of Detroit and the Romanian Episcopate, the parish held its inaugural service in March of that year at Saint Paul Episcopal Church in Tustin, California, led by Father Cornel Avramescu.

As the congregation expanded, members contributed to purchasing a lot in 1989, leading to the construction of the current church building. By 1996, the edifice was completed and began hosting services. The church's interior features paintings by Father Cornel Avramescu, enhancing its spiritual ambiance.

The church offers a variety of ministries and organizations, including a Parish Council, Ladies Auxiliary, Church Choir, Church School for Children, Altar Servers, and charitable initiatives aimed at assisting those in need locally and in Romania.
