Stazione di Orvieto (Orvieto Railway Station), Orvieto

Orvieto Railway Station opened on March 10, 1864, initially connecting Orvieto to Orte. By 1865, it gained a direct link to Rome via the slower line, and in 1875, travel to Florence was made quicker with the opening of the Chiusi-Terontola section.

The station has three tracks for passenger trains, including two main tracks and one for passing and terminating trains, along with three freight tracks. Facilities include an underpass and elevator, and it is near the Orvieto Nord and Sud connections with the Florence-Rome high-speed line. Despite once serving long-distance trains, most Intercity services now use the historical line to reduce congestion on the high-speed line.

Trenitalia manages passenger services, with all regional, most Intercity, and Euronight trains stopping here. Outside, buses from Umbria Mobilità and COTRAL offer urban and suburban connections, and a funicular provides quick access to the historic city center.
