Theatre Mogador (Mogador Theatre), Paris

Inaugurated in 1919 amidst the presence of US President Woodrow Wilson, who was in France for the Treaty of Versailles negotiations, this opulent three-tiered theater stands as one of Paris's most lavish venues. Over the years, it has played a significant role in the city's theatrical landscape, hosting a diverse array of performances ranging from operettas and Rolling Stones concerts to Molière award ceremonies and French adaptations of beloved Broadway musicals. Presently, the theater primarily presents musicals and other productions with a strong popular appeal, including well-known shows like "The Lion King" and "Holiday on Ice". Theatre in Paris ensures that many of the performances are subtitled in English.

During the First World War, this theater was constructed following the principles and style of English music halls. Initially named the "Palace Theatre" to attract British soldiers, it was soon renamed Mogador, after the former name of the town of Essaouira in Morocco. From 1920 onwards, it became a Cine-variety venue, gaining acclaim for hosting Sergei Diaghilev's "Ballets Russes" and afternoon performances of operettas and plays known as Thés Mogador. Until the 1970s, the Théâtre Mogador primarily featured operetta performances, including those by renowned artist Mistinguett. In 1983, an extensive renovation restored the building to its former splendor. The Stage Entertainment group, known as Stage Holding - The Theater Group at the time, acquired the theater in 2005.
