Vernaccia di San Gimignano Wine Experience La Rocca, San Gimignano
The Vernaccia di San Gimignano Wine Experience – La Rocca was created by the Consortium of Vernaccia di San Gimignano Wine. Its name, La Rocca or “the Fortress,” highlights the center’s mission to go beyond simple tastings and to serve as a gateway into the cultural story and heritage of Vernaccia, Tuscany’s first DOCG wine.
On the main floor, visitors can explore a regularly changing selection of Vernaccia di San Gimignano DOCG and Riserva wines, with more than 200 labels rotated over time. The tasting experience also includes regional reds, rosés, Vin Santo (known as “Holy Wine”), and Chianti DOCG, offering a wide-ranging overview of Tuscan winemaking.
For those seeking a more in-depth experience, the Top Masterclass offers a guided tasting of six regional wines across a series of themed, multimedia rooms. These immersive spaces explore topics such as Vernaccia’s history, production techniques, and connection to the land, enhanced by visuals, soundscapes, and interactive displays.
