Villa Sentosa (Malay Living Museum), Melaka

Villa Sentosa, also known as Malay Living Museum, located in the Kampung Morten area in Melaka, is a cultural museum that was originally built in the 1920s. The house was owned by a wealthy Malay family, and it was passed down through the generations until it was eventually purchased by the government of Melaka in 1982.

The government of Melaka then undertook an extensive restoration project, working to preserve the traditional Malay architecture and design of the house. The project was completed in 1984, and Villa Sentosa was opened to the public as a museum.

The museum was designed to showcase the traditional Malay lifestyle and customs of the local people, and it features a wide range of artifacts and exhibits that give visitors a glimpse into the past. The exhibits include traditional clothing, furniture, tools, and other household items that were used in daily life.

In addition to the exhibits, Villa Sentosa also offers guided tours which provide visitors with insights into the traditional Malay lifestyle and customs.

Today, Villa Sentosa is a popular destination for tourists and locals alike, and it continues to serve as an important cultural landmark in Melaka. The museum is a testament to the rich history and traditions of the Malay people.
