Zamzama Park, Karachi
Zamzama Park is a 26-acre public green space used for walking, exercise, recreation, and family outings. Administered by the Defence Housing Authority, it was created on land previously occupied by military barracks. Its lawns, trees, and walking routes provide a quieter setting beside a busy residential and commercial district.
The park includes walking and jogging tracks, children’s play facilities, a roller-skating or rollerblading enclosure, open lawns, seating areas, and a refreshment stand. Its approximately one-kilometre track is particularly popular with walkers and joggers during the cooler morning and evening hours. Near Gate 2, the Pakistan Bonsai Society maintains its headquarters and display centre, and the park has hosted exhibitions featuring carefully cultivated miniature trees. Conditions and the availability of individual facilities may vary, so descriptions of uniformly maintained gardens, picnic areas, or spaces for informal sports should not be treated as permanent features.
Zamzama Park functions primarily as a neighbourhood recreation area where residents exercise, bring children to play, and spend time outdoors. Its proximity to nearby boutiques, cafés, and restaurants allows visitors to combine a park visit with shopping or dining, while remembering that access may follow separate morning and evening opening periods rather than continuing throughout the day.
